It can be easy to just let things simply drift along but sometimes when we take stock of our situations we realise that we are in a place which wasn't really where we thought we were going to.
That can sometimes be good ... maybe refreshing and exciting.
Or maybe we realise that we lost sight of where we were going; maybe we settled for something because we thought we couldn't do more; perhaps we never took control to make what we wanted to happen come about.
This can mean many things. It could be that we always thought we would work towards a particular career or position in the workplace; it may be that we thought we would be in a different place within or without a relationship, as regards children or wider family. It may be in relation to material things such as finding somewhere settle to live or buying a house. It could also be in relation to certain habits or patterns of behaviour that we though we would have changed by now or maybe even 'grown out of'. Or that we thought we would take some action to address something like confidence but there was always tomorrow. And it can be just that - 'I'll do it tomorrow ... later ... soon" ... the right time ... and then we found it was so many years later, that that 'right time' never came along.
There is probably never the perfect time. Tomorrow can always be a day away.
So, is it time to make a change? When will that be? Who is really in control of where we are going in life? And how we get there?
Sometimes a visual image and few words can encapsulate something that is so much more ... pointing directly to a truth.
